
Rev. Dr. Leonard Lovett is a native of Pompano Beach, Florida.
He is a distinguished graduate of Morehouse
College, Crozer Theological Seminary with the
Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Emory
University in Ethics and Society. He received
a Certificate in Africana Studies from the University of Ghana
(Legon) in 1994.
He is the pioneer Dean Emeritus of C.H. Mason Seminary, an
affiliate of the Interdenominational
Theological Center in Atlanta Georgia. He is
the Church Of God In Christ First Ecumenical Officer of Urban
Affairs.
Dr. Lovett has served over two decades of pastoral ministry
in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Atlanta. He has taught at
server al seminaries including Fuller
Theological Seminary, Pasadena, Graduate
Theological Union (Berkeley), American Baptist
Seminary of the West (Covina), Ecumenical Center for Black
Studies (Los Angeles), and more recently Oral
Roberts Graduate School of Theology, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Faith Community and Academy unites for over a decade
as founding CEO of Seminex Ministries, specializing in Church/Leadership
Development seminars and his commitment as Independent Research
Scholar. His ecumenical involvement began in 1974 as a reactor
at a Vatican-Pentecostal Dialogue held as Schlosse Crahiem,
in West Germany. He has served as a member of Faith and Order
Commission of the National Council of Churches. For well over
two decades he has been the Martin
Luther King, Jr. celebrant speaker at scores
colleges, universities, churches and military bases throughout
North America.
He is a former columnist on the Black Perspective for the
bi-monthly Ministries Today magazine. Dr. Lovett has contributed
innumerable articles spanning a wide spectrum of commentary
on political, social ethical and theological issues impacting
urbia.

Dr. Lovett is father of four sons and resides in Alexandria,
Virginia with his wife, Phyllis Marie a Clinical Social Worker.
